The luxurious Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara officially launches
Inaugurated by the Qatar Prime Minister
The all-new Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara marks the luxury brand’s first resort in the Gulf state. Earlier this week, Qatar Prime Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani officially launched the new destination – which is now open and accepting reservations.
The new project is operated by Anantara and developed by Al Rayyan Hospitality – who have built many of Qatar's most-favoured hotels including the Souq Waqif, London’s Orya Hotel, Salwa Resort, and the hotel and spa at Masila.
The Banana Island is located on the Qatari crescent-shape (or banana-shaped – hence its name) island in the Gulf and is a 20-minute journey by boat. The island features a luxurious 800-metre beach and 141 opulent guest rooms, suites and villas including eight two-bedroom over-water villas and a handful of three-bedroom villas, which are spread over 360-square-metres and come complete with a private, personal pool.
Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara also boasts its own marina, with 30 berths as well as a dive centre with a practice pool and a offer a plethora of water sports. The new resort also encompasses a nine-hole putting golf course, eight pin bowling alley and a luxurious VIP cinema theatre, as well as a spa and wellness centre.
