Apple makes bid for Jeremy Clarkson as it prepares to enter content production
Clarkson was in Apple’s eye
As rumours mount surrounding Apple's intention to create its own production arm, and produce original long-form content, the news of an Apple bid for Jeremy Clarkson adds fuel to the fire. We reported yesterday on the growing evidence to suggest that Apple is gearing towards a Netflix style production capacity (see more on that here).
Now it would seem that Apple made an opportunistic bid to sign the perennially popular former Top Gear host, Jeremy Clarkson along with his co-stars Richard Hammond and James May. Ultimately though it was Amazon who sealed the deal with a £160 million agreement for 36 episodes of a new motoring show.
