André Chiote illustrates World Cup stadiums
With patriotic influences
The Portuguese artist stated that, "If a building (stadium or other kind) has an expressive design, a 'key concept', it becomes much easier to illustrate because you quickly discover what was the aim of the project, and it becomes much easier to communicate it."
Putting things into perspective, when Chiote was drawing the Amazonia Arena, the diamond grid motif that is incorporated around the entire stadium was highlighted. Also with the Fonte Nova Arena and the Brasilía's Mané Garrincha Stadium, the artist accentuated the pocked roof for the former and the slim pillars for the latter.
Each of the representations are decorated using the country's national colors, which consist of blue, yellow and green, with Chiote explaining his stimulus: "As a national statement, I thought it was an interesting approach to use the colours of Brazil's flag to produce iconic images of some new symbols of that country."
The illustrator plans to continue drawing the remaining 7 stadiums that are being used during the FIFA World Cup tournament.
