A huge change took place in fashion publishing this week, when one of the most authoritative titles in the industry was sold by Condé Nast

Yesterday we learned that the Penske Media Corporation, founded in 2003 and based in Los Angeles, bought international fashion industry bible WWD and Fairchild Fashion Media from historical publishing house Condé Nast.

Penske is a leading global digital media, publishing, information services and events company spanning web-based, television, mobile, print and social media, and reaching 168 million monthly readers.

The fast-growing company boasts 22 digital brands and 93 million video views. Among its brands are Variety, Deadline, Hollywood Life, India.com, Movieline, BGR, @hollywood,and The Health Site. It's main player, Variety, is the online site and weekly newspaper that covers the entertainment industry worldwide. Boasting 11 million unique visitors and 33 million page views, while the physical newspaper has a circulation of 40,000 and over 120,000 readers. Another important title for PMC is HollywoodLife.com, which was launched in 2009, covering celebrity, fashion, beauty, entertainment and baby news and has 25 million unique visitors and 147 million page views.

The company also sponsors events and conferences including the Young Hollywood Awards, the Breakthrough Awards, the Style Awards, Variety Power of Women and Variety Power of Comedy.
