Nike collaborates with McBess to debut over 100,000 personalised Nike+ videos
New Years spirit
To motivate runners and athletes for the New Year season, Nike partnered with McBess – the French illustrator-director – and asked him to create bespoke animated videos for its most regular 100,000 Nike+ users.
The one-minute video provides a summary of the Nike+ user's activity over the past 12 months, and encourages the athlete to outdo their achievements of 2014, for 2015.
"Each film is created using location, weather, activity and individual Nike+ movement data," says Nike. "Meaning a runner from Toronto would receive a completely different film to an NTC user in New York."
"Our Nike+ members accomplished some amazing things in 2014, and we wanted to inspire them to push for new goals and opportunities in 2015 by sharing some of the magic behind their data in an artistic and unexpected way," said David Schriber, Vice President, North America Brand Marketing at NIKE, Inc. "We wanted to show the energy and a defiant playfulness that our members could relate to. Each video is a personalized story of a year of hard work, whether from an individual or an entire city, they reflect the conviction and effort that goes into making your year count."
The personalised videos are available at Nike.com/YourYear, to anyone who generated enough NikeFuel.
