The table 9 changeover
All change at table 9 Dubai, as a new Chef Patron is announced
Hilton Dubai Creek's multi award-winning restaurant, table 9, has confirmed the name of its new Chef Patron. British-born Darren Velvick comes to the eatery directly from the Michelin-starred restaurant Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley in London. Velvick was trained by Gordon Ramsay, an interesting twist of fate considering table 9 by Nick & Scott arrived to the location of Verre, Ramsay's original Dubai location.
Velvick's arrival at table 9 is a major coup for Dubai Hilton Creek as it sought to replace the highly successful outgoing team, Nick, Scott – and Viktorija, who leave the restaurant on December 31. The three built table 9's reputation for delivering high-quality, original menus complemented with an unpretentious and bespoke dining experience, as anyone to have had the fortune to dine at the restaurant under the trio's tenure will agree.
"I am incredibly excited to be joining table 9 at a time when it is enjoying so much success. I would like to thank Nick and Scott for everything they have done – in some ways they have made my job quite easy but on the other hand I have a lot to live up to," comments Velvick, "I will hopefully bring a slightly different style to the restaurant, with a strong focus on an imaginative..." he added.
Nick, Scott and acclaimed sommelier Viktorija leave the restaurant as a team to join the Albawardy investment group's design and development strategy team, and so the wait is on to see what they have up their various sleeves next.
The restaurant be closed from the January 1-9as Darren and his team prepare for the official opening of the new look 'table 9 by darren velvick'.
To be one of the first to dine at the restaurant in January, we suggest you book now.
