Toko Dubai launches new signature dishes for summer
Award-winning contemporary concept restaurant Toko has revolutionised Japanese dining in Australia, and recently spread its wings internationally with the opening of its first location outside of Sydney – where it launched six years ago in Surry Hills – to the Vida Downtown in Dubai earlier this year. The same location as famed French haunt, La Serre.
Renowned for its impeccable presentation, Toko creates 'authentic yet modern' cuisine with unique and innovative techniques. And now, Executive Chef Nasser Laziri and his team have created dishes that specifically work to explore a harmony between taste and texture.
"Working in such a dynamic and modern environment allows me to exercise my creativity every day, and each dish I work on is a representation of my feelings at that given time period. The more time I spend in Dubai, the more I am able to understand the palate and tastes of the customer, which allows me to really give our customers what they want." He says.
The restaurant has mastered a series of summer season, new signature dishes which include:
Sikyo, aburi sake, makimono
Ainame no oumi yaki
(Grilled chilean seabass, soy tamarind chilli, pickled myoga)
Nihon no kinoko no kamameshi
(Japanese mushroom rice hotpot, truffle, onsen egg)
