New place to love: Tashas Cafe in Dubai
The city’s new South African gem
A dynamic and unique journey of delicious flavours and vibrant visuals, Tashas is one restaurant that has already taken Dubai by storm, as it combines Middle Eastern flavours, with with its energetic signature style.
Tashas captures a fresh spin on the traditional 'coffee shop' experience, with light, bright and homey interiors. The space provides its diners with a comfortable experience filled with tasty dishes and lush surroundings.
The South African franchise – which was started by restaurateur Natasha Sideris – was founded in 2005 when the first restaurant was opened in Atholl Square in Sandton, with 11 branches open across South Africa, and now Dubai.
The large menu ranges from healthy breakfast dishes and freshly squeezed juices to gourmet sandwiches and a variety of protein-based dishes such as Parmesan and Couscous crusted chicken and Salmon Tartare.
Buro 24/7 Middle East highly recommends the Breakfast Royale, which is two poached eggs on asparagus or wilted spinach, topped with a light lemon sauce, served on crunchy seeded bread or polenta toast, the super-fresh Tabouleh and Halloumi salad – and saving the best for last, the gooey and addictive Eton Mess for dessert.
