Open until March 8, the Beach Canteen will host a collection of 16 pop-up restaurants on three of Dubai's most popular beaches

Dubai Food Festival's 'Beach Canteen' starts this weekend, daily from noon–11pm, serving up a range of delicious cuisines — out of refurbished cargo containers — including Emirati, Egyptian, International, Italian, Mexican, French and Japanese.

The food extravaganza will be held at three beaches across Dubai as part of the festival proceedings, combining the sunset and ocean breeze with copious amounts of appetising food.

On Jumeriah 1's Open Beach, foodies can expect arts and crafts, picnic tables and food and beverage provided by Cafe2Go, maneesh from Lebaneesh, Roti Mum Café and La Creparie.

On Kite Beach, the scene will be more buoyant with DJ's, graffiti, table tennis and free yoga setting a more upbeat mood, with food from Bikers Café, Coffeol, Extreme Shawarma, Italian gelato, Giolitti, Hadoota Masreya, Loca, Saladicious, Power Burger and Seaview.

Lastly, Sunset Beach will have arabic music and Emirati food from Barjeel, as well as Kyo Café, La Provence, Ines Paris and freshly brewed coffee from Raw Coffee.

The Beach Canteen will be open until March 8, 2014 from 12-11pm daily, on Jumeirah 1 Open Beach, Kite Beach and Sunset Beach.
