The Dinner Club by No. 57 x Tod's secret dinner in Abu Dhabi
An intimate soirée under the Sheikh Zayed Bridge
Held under the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi, No. 57 founders Alamira Noor Bani Hashim and Buthaina Al Mazrui hosted a magical dinner for Tod's in the UAE capital on Saturday evening.
Soon after opening the doors to their highly-anticipated eatery in Abu Dhabi, the young Emiratis returned to their celebrated pop-up dinner concept, which organically started when delays for the venue of their restaurant set them back. The two girls wanted to soft launch the No.57 concept, and didn't let a little thing like not actually having a restaurant to host in get in the way – opting to throw monthly dinners in surprise locations, such as an empty swimming pool. The pop-up dinner concept, which is popular in Europe and America, had never really been realized in the UAE until this point – and the girl's dinners were a huge success. When the No.57 restaurant finally opened last month, we wondered whether the duo would draw the curtain on their secret dinners, and we are happy to see that, no, they have not...
The dinner was hosted in collaboration with Tod's and the luxury fashion house directly inspired the place settings, which featured leather details. Presenting a menu of spicy tuna with crispy rice, shaved lamb salad, sumptuous Burrata cheese, tagliatelle with truffle and cream sauce, a perfectly pink rack of lamb and the signature Dinner Club by No.57 'Ermahgerd' desert, a host of insiders made the trip to uncover the secret location under Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi.
Guests including designer Reema Al Banna, Dana Hourani, Reem Al Mansouri, Tod's Elisa Lubinski and others were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience – discovering Tod's latest collections under the UAE capital monument, which was lit like a fairytale scene.
