Zaha Hadid's jazz superyacht for Blohm+Voss
Destination? The future
Zaha Hadid has started the New Year with German shipbuilders Blohm + Voss. Three months ago Hadid released a set of renderings for a 128 metre concept yacht. Blohm + Voss will use these as the basis for a set of five smaller vessles called the Unique Circle Yachts. The first 90-metre craft in the range, The Jazz Yacht, can be seen in the images (here below). The remaining four boats will be customised according to the needs of their owners.
Anyone who is familiar with Hadid's work will immediately recognise her minimal use of colour, lack of right angles and abundance of bold curves. The vessel is sleek, sophisticated and the epitome of futuristic design.
Zaha Hadid's team say the five Unique Circle Yachts "creatively explore the design philosophies of the master prototype within the technical requirements of a fully engineered yacht design".
All aboard the dream ship of the 21stcentury - London department superstore Selfridges is currently providing customers with a walk-around digital model of Zaha Hadid's £300 million super-yacht via their new Imaginarium concept. Find out more with our exclusive story here.
