Zaha Hadid unveils designs for luxury apartments in Rio de Janeiro
The first few images of Zaha Hadid's latest architectural venture, and first project in Brazil, have now been released. The luxury apartment building in Rio de Janeiro will boast views of the city's beach landscape, with the multistory structure set to neighbour Diller Scofidio + Renfro's Museum of Image and Sound along with the Copacabana beach.
Adding to Rio's new aesthetic wave, Hadid's design will feature a minimal symmetrical façade, intended to hold 30 residences, each serviced with amenities found in luxury hotels. The development – which will begin construction in early 2015 – will also include a spa, a cinema, and rooftop pool overlooking the beach below.
