Zaha Hadid unveils interior designs for Dubai project
To be featured in the architect's sculptural Opus Tower
The renowned Iraqi-British architect's new project in the UAE involves designing the interior of the complex's hotel rooms and apartment units, as well as the entire building itself. The rooms will be located at the upper levels of the Opus Tower, which is set to be completed by 2016 and mark a 'new maturity' in design for architecture in the city.
The unique hotel suites are designed to cater to both local residents and international travellers, while apartments within the impressive scheme will combine an urban, modern way of living with a simple yet homey appeal, and offer panoramic views across Dubai.
Each room will feature an interactive media center and an integrated digital music environment, as well as sliding and pivoting panels that will allow volumes to be easily altered. In addition to the technologically advanced elements, each piece of furniture filling the space will either be designed by Hadid — showcasing her signature style of curved flowing forms — or chosen by her.
