Zaha Hadid's 'City of Dreams' in Macau
Hospitality developer Melco Crown Entertainment has revealed project details of its fifth hotel tower the company's flagship property in Macau.
It has been announced that Zaha Hadid, a name no stranger to creative concepts in the Far East, will complete the 40-storey tower as part of the 'City of Dreams' – with the striking sculptural design forms part of a large-scale entertainment resort, a initiative that plans to establish a strong and iconic relationship with its surroundings, becoming a landmark.
The building is made up of duo towers that are connected at the podium levels and roof, whilst further bridges span the space between the two. It is to feature an 'exposed exoskeleton' – which not only presents a visually engaging and dynamic exterior, but helps with the internal programming of the building.
Covering a total floor area of 150,000 square meters, the tower is also playing home to approximately 780 guestrooms, suites and sky villas. Of course, it also includes a variety of meeting and event facilities, gaming rooms, lobby atrium, restaurants, spa, and sky pool.
