The Lobanov Star project redefines the superyacht
Set to cost around half a billion dollars
The new Star superyacht is a collaboration between Lobanov Design and BMT Nigel Gee, billing itself as the world's most exclusive private hotel. The sleek water vessel will be 132 meters long and over 60 meters high, providing guests with a beautiful visual experience and stay once it starts sailing the open waters.
"Star is a tangible view of a 21st century interpretation of art and science," said James Roy, Yacht Design Director of BMT Nigel Gee. "We are fortunate to live in an era where technology makes the delivery of bolder designs more possible – for clients who are adventurous innovators anything is truly possible".
Shaped like the top half of a star, with over 3,500 square metres of interior space, there will be four elevators providing access across the private yacht's eight decks.
The Star has been designed with a maximum speed of 18+kts, with a range of 14kts of 5000+NM, with BMT Nigel Geein charge of the naval architecture and technical feasibility. However, the one-of-a-kind yacht will not come cheap, as according to Lobanov it will cost around half a billion dollars if it's constructed in Northern Europe.
