Discover the new eco-friendly luxury floating homes
Forget bricks and mortar, London based company, EcoFloLife, wants us to live on the water with its newly created eco-friendly, luxury floating home design which has been dubbed – WaterNest. The buoyant oval shaped residential pods come in 60 square meter or 100 square metre sizes and are crafted from materials like repurposed aluminium and laminated reclaimed wood.
With 98% of the homes being recyclable, no creature comforts have been sacrificed. The WaterNests have been designed with balconies located on the sides, to enjoy the water views and fill the interior with natural light. And durability is paramount, the impact and corrosion resistant exterior requires little to no maintenance while the interior is constructed from hardy treated leak-proof teak floors. Whilst the kitchen and bathroom is decked out with high spec utilities.
There are yet more cool features in the tech and eco departments. The roof consists of amorphous photovoltaic panels, which can generate power for all of the needs of the home from heating to entertainment. And a centralised systems allows residents to control every utility and device in the house from one keyboard, or smartphone, meaning that alerts and controls can still be operated remotely. Could floating be the future of living?
