Danish design house Vipp unveil a smart new compact home
Innovative design for affordable housing is high on the agenda of many socially-conscious design houses, including Muji and Philippe Starck, and now the Danish design and lifestyle brand, Vipp, has revealed its latest effort – the Vipp Shelter.
Vipp's heritage is in functional industrial design, its founder was a trained metal worker, and to this day it religiously adheres to the notion that 'less is more'. In keeping with these ideals, the Vipp Shelter is minimalist, while at the same time, entirely sufficient.
The cabin like structure is made of galvanised steel, and measures 55 square-meters. The space is divided between two stories and is big enough to accommodate four people. It comes fully loaded with Vipp's interiors range including stylish furniture, lighting, tables, towels, and bed linens, with electrical underfloor heating works and a centrally located fireplace.
