A unique structure called ‘The Cube’, offers a visual treat while simultaneously challenges perceptions

LA-based design firm Oyler Wu Collaborative has created a unique installation called 'The Cube', which was designed and built for the Beijing Biennale in 2013. Standing at 16 meters tall, the structure is made using three dimensional woven tapestry rope within metal frames. Its features are intended to be read and understood in their basic appearance, while also challenging perceptions of what makes up the form. As one approaches and gets closer to the structure, the experience offered is completely different as it is possible to understand the filgree membranes that comprise of organic webs.
