Dubai home to the world's tallest tower built in 2013
The sky's the limit
As well as scooping the Guinness World Record in December 2012 as the world's tallest hotel, the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai Tower 2 (355m) has added another victory to its belt as the world's tallest tower developed in 2013.
2013 was an impressive year for the UAE's portfolio of construction projects, as it scored highly in the list of the world's tallest developments, with a total of four out of ten making the cut - including the Al Yaqoub Tower in Dubai (328m), The Landmark in Abu Dhabi (324m) and the eye-catching Cayan Tower (307m).
Since 2008, Dubai has ranked amongst the top five cities for tall tower developments, with a stint in the number one spot in 2008 and again in 2010.
