Google is paying homage to legendary architect Zaha Hadid on the anniversary of her momentous win in 2004. Buro 24/7 Middle East has the details...

It was on this day, 13 years ago that the late Iraq-born British starchitect Zaha Hadid became the first woman to win the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize. To celebrate the occasion, Google has dedicated its Doodle of the Day to the trailblazing visionary. The illustration features Hadid in her signature black with Azerbaijan's Heydar Aliyev Centre, one of her most iconic designs, in the background. In addition to being the first female recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, Hadid also made history by becoming the first woman to be awarded Britain's Royal Gold Medal.
