The design world will descend upon Dubai as it hosts one of the most important events in the industry's calendar. Buro 24/7 Middle East has the details...

The region's premier design trade show is set to take centrestage. Running in conjunction with Dubai Design Week, Downtown Design will once again attract more than 100 global and local design brands to showcase their products that range from furniture and lighting to textiles and accessories. In addition to the exceptional design pieces, the event provides a platform for industry talks as well as panel discussions.

This year, Dubai-based architect Tarik Al Zaharna has been tasked to design the show space. Inspired by nature, Zaharna's master plan will feature organic materials and is sure to enhance the visitor experience. On the exhibitor's side, Bend Goods from Los Angeles, Sancal from Spain as well as Dubai's own Pallavi Dean are set to make their show debuts.

"As a platform for the design industry in the region, d3 is proud to support Downtown Design," said Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, Chief Operating Officer, Dubai Design District. "Design is at the centre of the new vision of Dubai and, as a catalyst event, Downtown Design is part of that journey towards achieving global recognition as a leading creative hub, whilst also supporting d3's goal of becoming the home for design brands both regionally and internationally."
