s one of the region's most talked about design fairs, Design Days Dubai is returning to the emirate for its seventh edition complete with an unparalleled line-up of exhitions, talks and workshops. With support from Van Cleef & Arpels, Audi and Dubai Design District, this year's Design Days Dubai will see an exciting programme with a plethora of creativity at the fore. Since launching her brand in 2015, Ayah Al Bitar is set to exhibit a new collection, aptly titled The Sanctuary. Inside a space that is as functional as it is creative, the unique collection will showcase state-of-the-art storage solutions for Muslim's pre-prayer routines. Another must-see event is the Dubai Design and Fashion Council's (DDFC) interactive space. Expect to be educated about design, creative processes and DDFC's contribution to Design Days Dubai. Also, discover the MB&F M.A.D.Gallery Dubai, which will see achingly cool mechanical and kinetic art pieces (as seen below).
Known for their high-end jewellery creations, Van Cleef & Arpels is set to run several workshops during Design Days Dubai, including Gouache Drawing. Here experts from the maison will showcase the first stages of their design process (see below). Another must-attend workshop is the Experimental Arabic Typography as Architectural Skin class, which is set to focus on the Arabic language, alphabet and designs. Lastly, children (and adults too) are invited to create to design a DUMYÉ doll with a workshop that promotes social awareness through creativity.
During Design Days Dubai, must-see talks are set to take place and they promise to be as educational as they are fun. Three talks in particular including This is My Job, Safeguarding Craft and the Discussion Panel with Audi Innovation Awards Judges, will be moderated by UK-based designers and regional designers including Emirati Khalid Shafar.
