The Burj Al Arab celebrates its 15th anniversary
With a spectacular fireworks and light show in Dubai
The invitation-only VIP event took place at Villa Beach, the Burj Al Arab with festivities kickstarting at 5pm sharp before six major Dubai roads were closed at 5.30pm to allow for the ambitious celebration.
Guests were treated to a plethora of delectable canapés, whilst enjoying the scenery of the beach and the icon that everyone gathered to celebrate – Dubai's iconic sail-shaped hotel. Dubbed the only seven-star hotel in the world, the Burj Al Arab was one of the first luxury hotels to debut in the region 15 years ago.
The spectacular fireworks and light show started at around 6.45pm, and images of the construction of the architectural icon were beamed onto the building, followed by a series of stories including one that involved a rocket with 'UAE' emblazoned on it, blasting off into space. The beloved Arab falcon also featured, as well as images of the country's inspiring leaders including Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed and of course, the UAE's Founding Father – Sheikh Zayed.
