America's tallest skyscraper
One, World Trade Center
A skyscraper built on the site of the Twin Towers in New York, has been recognised as the tallest building in the United States. The height of One World Trade Center (including its spire) is 541 metres.
The International Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat found One World Trade Center in New York City to be the tallest building the U.S., reports Associated Press. Prior to this, the title of 'tallest tower' was held by Willis Tower in Chicago at 442.26 metres.
One World Trade Center was built by the architect Daniel Libeskind at the aforementioned 541 metres (or 1,776 feet); the original name of the project was 'Freedom Tower' and as well as its crown in America, it is of the three tallest buildings in the world along with the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828.14 metres) and the Makkah Royal Clock Tower Hotel in Mecca (601.07 meters).
