Driven to fly: Meet the new flying car design of the future
The MIT-trained engineers at Terrafugia have designed a futuristic flying car, dubbed the TF-X, which they have unveiled via a CGI video (see below) that shows the incredible potential of the concept vehicle.
Ostensibly this is a road-worthy car, that with its engine and electric power source, drives like any other electric car. Except, of course, for its ability to transform into a fixed wing aircraft, providing true door to door transport in one easy ride.
It possesses an internal GPS that will help drivers navigate both land and air, and will assist with auto-landing. The price is unspecified, and as yet, and the lead time on a TF-X is currently around eight years. Could this be the future of private travel?
