Spanish motorcycle maker Bultaco has announced plans to build an electric motorcycle more than three decades after the original company ceased trading

The Barcelona-built 2015 Bultaco Rapitán boasts a 54hp electric motor to propel its 189kg chassis, all powered by its brushless electric motor and lithium-ion battery. The sleek bike will be able to reach a top speed of 90mph, which is more than enough power for the city streets.

The built-in charger will take three to five hours to fill its battery with the necessary juice to offer a combined SAE range of 87 miles, and will also feature regenerative braking.

In addition to its unique eye-catching design and engine qualities, Bultaco's bike can even store a full-face helmet in the area that typically houses a gas tank. The motorcycle is still in pre-production with the company hoping to make the machine a reality later this year.
