After 2 years of development, the first images of the prototype Lotus C-01 high-performance motorcycle have just been released

The new 181-kilogram superbike is the product of a design collaboration between Kodewa Performance Motorcycles, Holzer Group and German designer Daniel Simon.

The C-01 features a V-twin engine, carrying with it a speed of up to 200-horsepower in a sleek body made of carbon-fibre, steel and titanium. The motorcycle will be available in a range of futuristic styles, with a special customisation service also available.

Commenting about the idea to create the C-01 motorcycle, Kodewa's Dr Colin Kolles said, "We set out to create a bike that isn't just great to ride but also represents a piece of art in motion. Over the years I have seen my fair share of style over substance, what this bike brings to the market is a unique combination of both: state of the art technology with a truly jaw-dropping aesthetic."

Designer, Daniel Simon, who's work was featured in the Hollywood movies TRON: Legacy, Oblivion and Prometheus, also commented on the recent project saying, "With the Lotus C-01, we have only one ambition: to create a unique state-of-the-art machine that carries its brutal forces with elegance and style, a high-tech monster in a tailored suit."
