The game-changer: Maybach unveils its first ever convertible
Luxurious open-air driving
German automaker Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled its latest automotive masterpiece, the S 650 Cabriolet, at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This marks the first ever convertible to be emblazoned with the Maybach badge and will be limited to only 300 pieces. Claimed to be the 'ultimate in open-air exclusivity', the S 650 Cabriolet follows the brand's 'sensual purity' design philosophy, marrying Mercedes' German engineering – think 630 horsepower – with Maybach's renowned luxury – think Swarovski headlamps.
The experience begins the moment you open the door as a special lighting feature projects the Maybach logo on the floor as you make your way to the cabin, which is inspired by the Arrow 460-Granturismo yacht. Inside, you have a choice of 10 colour palettes, from pastel yellow and black to porcelain and brown, complemented by the finest leather and wood materials. As an added bonus, the car comes with its own travel kit; two leather bags that are colour coordinated with the interior. Finally, to remind you just how exclusive the vehicle is, the centre console bears the chrome-plated marking which says '1 of 300'.
