Miroslava Duma on cultivating Russia's global fashion impact
Looking towards the future
The theme of this year's forum — which gathers thousands of participants from around the world to discuss the problems and prospects of the global economy — was 'Building trust in an era of change'.
Alongside discussions of key topics like innovation in the energy sector, growth in emerging markets and attracting private investments to development projects, the fashion industry also had a spotlight shone upon it.
Speaking on behalf of the growing fashion industry was Buro 24/7 founder, Miroslava Duma, Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis, Matteo Marzotto the President of Fiera di Vicenza, designer Vika Gazinskaya, Denis Simachev and Denis Manturov, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
The panel discussion was based on the $1.3 trillion global fashion industry and the increasing demand of fashion production coming out of emerging markets such as Russia. The fashionable panelists spoke about how the fashion industry could become a powerful force for the industrial sector as a whole and what major trends will re-shape fashion in the coming five years.
