Kenneth Cobonpue’s modern rickshaw ‘Eclipse’
Travelling in style
In Asia and South America, the rickshaw is one of the main means of transportation for millions of people. It is also a popular green choice for tourists exploring cities such as New York. Considering its popularity, Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue has developed a high-tech version called 'Eclipse'. The framework of the three-wheel model is made from aluminium while the carriage is formed using woven recyclable polyethylene circles, covered by insulated acrylic material. The features that set the rickshaw apart include an iPhone docking base, cup holders, a cooling fan, as well as panels on either side for more privacy.
