Most wanted: The Pangea ring by Kara Ross
Accessories that pay homage to the planet
A certified gemologist, Kara Ross designs are inspired by the gemstones she chooses – designing around the stones, honouring their natural beauty as well as the unique and extreme processes involved in the Earth's forming of them.
Derived from Ancient Greek 'pan', meaning entire and 'Gaia', meaning Mother Earth, the Pangea ring was born.
This beautiful new ring is a spectacular tribute to the world we live in.
The bezel is set with a large cabochon stone that represents the world, which is then skillfully drilled through and secured with a diamond (positioned like the North Star) on the very top allowing it to spin inside its setting – mimicking the rotation of Earth.
The hand-cut gemstone mosaic shapes – which are set in sparkling pave diamonds – on the sides of the ring represent the different cultures and ethnicities of the world.
The Pangea ring is now avaliable from Kara Ross' official website.
