Van Cleef & Arpels, in collaboration with Tashkeel and Design Days Dubai, have announced the four finalists for the 2016 Middle East Emergent Designer Prize — architect Ranim Orouk, ceramicist Michael Rice, architect and designer Marta Krivosheek and artist Anjali Srinivasan.

The Middle East Emergent Designer Prize, now in its fourth year, has proved to be a launchpad for many regional artists to bring their works to the public. The theme for the 2016 edition was nature and applications came from all around the region, including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Now, this March one winner will be announced, who will receive Dhs30,000 to produce their work as well as an invitation to attend courses at L'ECOLE Van Cleef & Arpels in Paris, an institution famed for its artistry and innovation in jewellery and watchmaking.

Alessandro Maffi, Managing Director of Van Cleef & Arpels, Middle East and India spoke about the prize, saying, "We are pleased to be a part of the developing art and design scene in Dubai, and proud to enhance the visibility and credibility of young and emerging artists and designers throughout the region."
