Following the release of the Van Cleef & Arpels Perlée collection, the luxury jewellery brand has shared an exclusive look at the making of, and inspiration behind, the iconic jewellery pieces. First crafted in 1920, the iconic gold beads served to showcase the maison's savoire-faire and heritage before being crafted into necklaces, earrings, bracelets and watches, as seen in the 1948 Couscous collection — a range inspired by a voyage to Morocco by the Arpels family.

After years of developing their craftsmanship, the jewellery house hand-picked and hand "-polished each bead — using a mirror-polishing technique — to create the pieces, think rings, bracelets and necklaces, which are to this day available within the Perlée collection.
