TAG Heuer, Hublot, Zenith and Bvlgari quit Baselworld

Another selection of luxury brands have opted out of Baselworld...

Just days ago, Chanel and several other luxury brands have announced their participation from Baselworld and are currently in talks for an entirely new establishment. Now, following suit, LVMH watch brands including TAG Heuer, Hublot, Zenith and Bvlgari have also announced their departure from the Baselworld show scheduled for January 2021.

“We are sorry to have to leave this over 100-year-old Baselworld event to which our Maisons have been consistently loyal,” explains Stéphane Bianchi, CEO Watchmaking Division LVMH. “It is nonetheless clear that we must respond quickly and make other arrangements. We are facing an opportunity to reinvent the format and content of one of the key moments of our watchmaking year, which represented both a major commercial challenge and a lever of influence for our brands. With this in mind, we will do our utmost to be present alongside the other prestigious Maisons that will gather in Geneva in April 2021, and thereby meet the requirements of our partners and clients while offering them an unrivalled experience.”

The four brands (all of which were a part of the LVMH Watch Week in Dubai), are currently discussing the formats of their future presentations whilst thinking of each brand’s strategy directions, product launches and commercial partners. Further details on their next steps will take form in the coming weeks.
