Swarovski unveil lab-grown coloured diamonds
Marilyn Monroe declared that "diamonds are a girl's best friend," and, as most women would agree, these shiny, glittery, almost mesmerising stones will make just about any female mouth drool. Now what if these tantalising gems came in a sparkling myriad of rainbow colours? Say, in eye-popping hues with extraordinary names to match their colour ferocity, such as Androgyny Flamingo (vibrant pink), Cubist Sky (sky blue), Gothic Cognac (a deep orange) and Draped Fire (a deep red) to name a few.
Making all of our kaleidoscopic dreams come true is Austrian brand Swarovski who just unveiled last week during Paris Couture Week Spring/Summer 2020 that it will be releasing 16 new exquisite Swarovski Created Diamond colour ways. Having entered the lab-grown market as producers in 2018 with its Swarovski Created Diamonds, the 125-year-old company latest offering is said to include what they are calling "the most extensive, sophisticated assortment of hues available on the global laboratory created diamond market today."
"Swarovski Created Diamonds are the marriage of art and science, with a touch of magical realism," says Markus Langes-Swarovski, a member of the company's executive board. "It's also a true celebration of human ingenuity and creativity."
Arranged according to four different pillars, each 16 new coloured lab-grown diamonds will reference one of the creative communities in which Swarovski has always played a vital role: fashion, art, music and architecture. Every category will be led by a main colour, which will come in a 2.5-carat stone, while the rest will be available within a 0.25 to 1.5 carat range.
Stay tuned for an official release date.
