One night only: Tiffany & Co. brings New York to the Burj Khalifa
Luxury New York jeweller Tiffany & Co. held an exclusive event at The Pavilion Armani Hotel in Dubai last week. Under the theme "Two Cities, One Night: New York in Dubai", the celebration was an homage to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who was inspired to build the Burj Khalifa during a trip to the Empire State Building in New York in the '60s, then the tallest structure in the world.
During the exclusive event that was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai International Marine Club and other high-profile individuals, the iconic Burj Khalifa was lit in the jeweller's signature Tiffany blue, bringing a touch of chic sophistication to the Dubai skyline. Apart from the lighting spectacle, the event also saw Tiffany & Co. bring the New York experience to Dubai with a recreation of its flagship NYC boutique. Here two brand new sparkling designs were unveiled.
Other highlights included large-scale installations of New York landmarks, think the Brooklyn Bridge, the Flatiron Building and of course, the Empire State Building.
