Maison Martin Margiela relaunches its jewellery line
Resurrecting the brand's fine designs
Having recently dabbled in somewhat casual collaborations, Maison Martin Margiela has resurrected its fine jewellery division with The Heritage Collection. Made up of “heirloom pieces with a twist,” Margiela is a brand that prides itself on the avant-garde, and uniquely making the designs their own with four specific themes: Solitaire, Pompadour, Alliance, and Chevalière.
Chevalière uses the inspiration behind the classic signet ring, which is cut down the middle and used as an 18k yellow gold ring and also enlarged as a bracelet. Alliance is taken from the traditional wedding band, the series is pave bands split outward making a beautiful abstraction of familial design. Pompadour uses deconstructed diamonds and Ceylon sapphires to create a double ring designed to be worn on two fingers and Solitaire features a diamond that appears to be split, but is actually twin half-moon 0.5 carat stones paired on opposite ends of a twisted ring...
