IWC Scaffhausen partners with the Tribeca Film Festival
Creating limited edition pieces for the festival
This marks the second year in the position for IWC Schaffhausen, which has also created a limited edition watch for the festival with a new 'Pilot Spitfire Chronograph'. Only 100 pieces of the watch - engraved with the festival's insignia - will be made.
CEO Georges Kern revealed: "We wanted to create a watch that would really stand out but still remain iconic to the brand," adding that "The combination of the slate dial with the bordeaux subdials has quite a vivid, theatrical quality - it's what makes it special and specific to the Tribeca Film Festival."
The watchmaker will also develop a single style, crafted in red gold that will be auctioned on April 9 at the Antiquorum timepiece auction house, with sale proceeds going toward the Tribeca Film Institute. On April 17, the watchmaker will present $25,000 grant to the winner of the IWC Filmmaker Award, to be unveiled at the 'For the Love of Cinema' event.
