Marking a new technical direction, this timepiece by Swarovski is literally shining bright. Buro 24/7 Middle East has the details...

Swarovski has presented the first automatic timepiece in its women's watch collection: the Crystalline Hours. Designed in partnership with master watch designer Eric Giroud, the round stainless steel case holds a dial that is peppered with 4,000 crystals, adding not only sparkle at each turn of the wrist but also a textured feel to a clean minimal design.

"When we started the design phase, we wondered how to feature as many crystals as possible within such a limited space, without compromising on the understated elegance of the watch," said Swarovski's Creative Director, Nathalie Colin. "We came up with this idea to reverse proportions and elaborate a transparent case which would allow a front and back view of both the movement and the crystals. I love the idea that not everything gets revealed at the first glance. It is more mysterious."

Water resistant up to 50m, the sparkling Swarovski timepiece is available in either a white (as seen above photographed by Margaret Zhang) or a black leather strap (directly above) with an embossed crocodile structure. The stainless steel case also comes in rose-gold.
