TAG Heuer unveils Ryan Gosling as new brand ambassador
A new breakout role
A leading man on and off-screen, Ryan Gosling has just been announced as TAG Heuer's newest ambassador, joining the likes of Naomi Osaka, Patrick Dempsey, Petra Kvitova and plenty more. Whilst this marks the Canadian actor's first brand partnership, he is no stranger to stepping into a brand new role – one that ties in with the confidence, effortless and fearless elements of TAG Heuer.
Gosling is an actor who defies easy categorisation with roles ranging in an all-singing, all-dancing Oscar-nominated turn in La La Land, a sci-fi revival Blade Runner 2049, a prestige biopic First Man and the iconic romance-drama The Notebook.
But it wasn't until his character in Drive that transformed him from heartthrob to A-list leading man. And for his debut campaign with TAG Heuer, Gosling channels the stuntman he played in the film.
"The movie Drive represents the strongest link with who we are today, and we are excited about the creative projects we have together," says TAG Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault. "A star since his early days, he has grown to become an icon – one both enigmatic and inscrutable. He is a true artist who chooses his projects with utmost care and dedicates himself to them like no other, not only shaping his character but the entire creative direction."
The campaign evokes a timeless emotion through colour as Gosling fronted a new generation of TAG Heuer’s sporty and elegant three-hand watch – the TAG Heuer Carrera Three Hands.
The new collection – made up of 13 pieces – is reinterpreted and reimagines the horological icon in four different versions: the TAG Heuer Carrera Day Date 41 mm, the TAG Heuer Carrera Twin-Time Date 41 mm, the TAG Heuer Carrera Date 39 mm and the TAG Heuer Carrera Date 29 mm.
The new range of timepieces represent the brand’s motor racing heritage, where elegance and fearlessness go hand in hand. And Gosling couldn't have been a better bit for the brand.
We're looking forward to seeing Gosling on the red carpet fronting TAG Heuer on his wrists.
