Buro loves: Cartier's 'Juste un Clou' collection for the festive season
Not just a nail...
'Juste un Clou' translates in English to 'Just a Nail' – but despite the collections name, these beautiful jewellery pieces from luxury French fashion house Cartier are anything but 'just a nail'. They are iconic, and they are steeped in history.
The 'twisted nail' collection shows how something mundane can become spectacularly beautiful – a true nugget of raw, chic energy wrapped close around the wrist, or the finger.
The first nail bracelet was originally conceived by Aldo Cipullo for Cartier New York back in the 1970s. Channelling a new festive wildness that sprung up around the iconic Studio 54 movement. The unusual piece of jewellery was way ahead of its time, displaying a modernity that remains up to date – and fast forward almost four decades and Cipullo's idea is back, redesigned to nail contemporary style.
The Juste un Clou collection is available online and at select Cartier boutiques worldwide now
