Chanel Haute Couture AW14: The Jewellery
The details uncovered
Paris' revered Haute Couture fashion week is one that gets scrutinised more than most. And the gaze from first row guests at any show sees every fine detail.
For the most recent Chanel Haute Couture AW14 collection, shown last week at the Grand Palais, Karl Lagerfeld called his work "Le Corbusier goes to Versailles." And the spirit of the famous architect manifested in the straight lines and designs of the clothes as well as the models' eye make-up... But it didn't finish there.
Had each guest been given optical binoculars as in a theatre, they would have noticed that complementing this inspiration was the platinum ring made up of diamonds to shape a lion's head worn by Malika Firth, and a ring of white gold, diamonds, pink tourmaline, citrine and cultured pearls on Nadja Bender - or perhaps even a brooch made up of pearls, moonstone pear-cut diamonds, white opals and mother of pearl on the inimitable Cara Delevingne.
