Why Valentino’s Spring/Summer ’20 haute couture collection is a very wearable one

Expect to see a different aspect of the designer's creative vision
Pierpaolo Piccioli added a disruptive twist to a traditional 'haute couture' collection...

Once again, Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli gave us a lesson in detail and precision following the brand’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer ’20 show. Highlighting a different breed of couture, the collection continued to consist of the brand’s signature voluminous gowns, however, there were new shapes formed and colour took over the collection.

Plenty of mermaid gowns, balloon-like silhouettes, bell-shaped capes, flip skirts and structural cuts unfolded on the runway in a bright, bold and bodacious palette that included pistachio, hot pink, lilac, red and the equally stunning in classic black and white. However, there were also more trousers in the collection, offering a very wearable couture range this season.
