Guilty of shopping on Instagram? Aren't we all. And it turns out we've be fawning over a few brands in particular over the past 12 months...

Fashion search platform Lyst is in review mode — the number-crunching site has looked at some of the year’s biggest trends and compiled them into its annual fashion report. First it told us who the most influential celebrity was and then it revealed the top 10 fashion items we’d all coveted this year. Now, the site has announced which brands were most popular on Instagram.

And there’s a pretty good chance you’ve got a piece from at least one of them in your wardrobe.

Social media has undoubtedly changed the way we shop, from making global brands more readily accessible to providing us with seemingly endless outfit inspiration and allowing us to purchase something new with the click of a button. And there’s plenty of brands across the world who have capitalised on this new wave of consumption.

According to Lyst, Meghan Markle‘s favourite sneaker brand Veja was the most sought after brand on Instagram this year, with a 113 per cent spike in searches. It was closely followed by fellow eco-friendly label Reformation in second place and the celeb-loved Attico came in third.

Thanks to its instant cult-hit leopard print skirt, Réalisation Par was fourth on the list whilst Scandi cool label Ganni rounded out the top five with a 52 per cent increase in searches year on year.

The rest of the top 10 was as follows: cult handbag label Staud came in sixth, sustainable fashion brand Nanushka in seventh, Hollywood-favourite Faithfull The Brand in eighth (with a 12 per cent bump in searches year on year), Rouge in ninth (which had “over 9,000 searches a week for the Gabin dress from July to September) and Danish brand Stine Goya finishing out the top 10.
