Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week S/S’18: Proenza Schouler, Ralph & Russo and Giambattista Valli

Day one highlights...
Three labels showcased their latest couture collections last night. See them here...

The star-studded fash pack is in Paris for Haute Couture Fashion Week and whilst Dior’s surrealist runway was the talk of yesterday’s shows, there were three other collection shows that took our breaths away.

Proenza Schouler

Although Proenza Schouler‘s collection did not fall under haute couture, the brand’s Fall/Winter ’18 collection was still a standout show, following their move away from New York Fashion Week

Co-designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough injected voyager elements to the new collection, through hippy-like silhouettes, earth-toned palettes and a vast array of fabrics — think leather, fringe, velvet, macrame and printed patchworks, tie-dye and cut-outs.

Also on the runway, we spotted Moroccan model Nora Attal. See it here first…

Ralph & Russo

One of Ralph & Russo‘s designs was just spotted on Lupita Nyong’o at the SAG Awards and now, the British luxury brand has unveiled its new haute couture collection.

Whilst looking to the East for inspiration, the pastel-pretty collection celebrated the feminine silhouette with gowns and mid-length dresses complete in ostrich feathers, pearls, crystals and the utmost delicate silks.

This year, the brand tapped Brazilian model Camila Coelho to be the Ralph & Russo bride for the finale of the show. Take a look here…

Giambattista Valli

As CEO and Founder of Future Tech Lab and Buro 24/7’s Co-Founder Mira Duma sitting front row at the Giambattista Valli show, the brand’s runway presentation was effortlessly chic.

Held at the Petit Palais, the couture show was inspired by the botanical creatures within a British garden. Adding to a series of black and white traditional ensembles, the designer indulged in a colourful spring palette on floor-sweeping gowns, lots of pleated tulles and over-the-top (and beautiful) creations. Take a look here…
