There are multiple views to Prada's new Spring/Summer '21 collection
Miuccia Prada took her latest Spring/Summer '21 collection and digitally delivered it through five captivating films in collaboration with Willy Vanderperre, Juergen Teller, Joanna Piotrowska, Martine Syms, and Terence Nance. Each talent was asked to interpret the brand's menswear collection and women's pre-collection through a series of videos which ran consecutively.
For Prada Multiple Views SS21, it was 'The Show That Never Happened' yet the beauty of the clothes, the heritage of the house and celebrated contradictions was still evident on-screen.
Broken down into five chapters, the collection (interpreted by the five aforementioned image-makers and artists) used their expertise to capture different facets of the Prada collection through film — a digitally dynamic way in the time of a pandemic.
The attention stayed on the clothes as silhouettes for the men remained tailored, sharp and fitted, whilst womenswear got the couture treatment and volume —plus, each piece was exquisitely crafted with technologically innovative fabrications of Prada nylon, leathers, cottons, taffeta, and true sportswear, drawn from Linea Rossa, technically innovative, function dictating form.
There's a lightness to the collection, one that brings a sense of enjoyment and energy to Prada's Spring/Summer '21 collections.
