Day four of Arab Fashion Week saw one couture designer present a collection that took inspiration from India. Buro 24/7 Middle East speaks to the man behind the brand exclusively…

Dubai-based eponymous label Michael Cinco, took inspiration from India's maharajas and injected his vision into a 28-look collection that was unveiled during Arab Fashion Week. Known for his fairytale-esque aesthetic and ball gown creations — think Aishwarya Rai's red carpet look during the Cannes Film Festival — the Filipino designer showcased a blue-dominated collection (both menswear and womenswear) that came complete with intricate embroidery, Swarovski crystals and achingly cool accessories.

Backstage, Michael Cinco discussed the collection exclusively with Buro 24/7 Middle East saying: "I was inspired by the jewels of the maharajas and my favourite piece would have to be the finale dress. It's very different from the Versailles collection and it's a collection that will speak to the Arab market." Well known in the region's fashion sphere, the designer described his Middle Eastern woman as "very haute couture". He went on to say that: "They like a lot of embroidery and a lot of detail."
