Zac Posen to give talk on Charles James at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
The glamour experts
As a fan of the talented Charles James, designer Zac Posen is planning to discuss the late designer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, with curator Jan Glier Reeder.
The talk will cover elements to James’ high-octane glamour, technique and enduring impact on the industry – he was, after all, the inspiration behind this year's MET Gala – as well as his personal influence on Posen, who first discovered his work at the age of 15. He will consequently speak with Reeder about James’ 'draping, cut and rule breaking'.
The Sunday at the Met Program — Glamour and Charles James with Zac Posen and Curator Jan Glier Reeder is being held this Sunday June 22 at 3pm, in conjunction with the Costume Institute exhibition, which runs until August 10. For those who cannot make the event, there is the opportuity to put forward a question via the museum's Facebook page.
