Michelle Obama said to have something big up her sleeve for White House fashion event

Inspiring initiative

Inspiration, construction and entrepreneurship are said to be a few of the topics that will be explored during the workshops and panel discussion tomorrow, with well-known designers addressing five or six students at a time

Tomorrow will see the first ever fashion-focussed educational workshop and panel discussion at the White House, with Michelle Obama keeping things quiet on what – and who – to expect. Handlers involved with the project have said has much more in store for the students than simple career advice. People have been working "around the clock" to complete a visually compelling piece that will be 'unveiled' during the all-day event, according to one insider.

"It will be much more exciting than the Christmas tree going up," they shared.

The First Lady will be introduced by Anna Wintour at a private luncheon and then the impressive big reveal will take place. Will the extravaganza be an installation, exhibition or something else entirely? Thanks to the strict signing of nondisclosure agreements with an unidentified client, we have to wait and see.

It is also understood that a major announcement will be made in the theme of providing a more direct career path for students interested in designfashion and art to drive the economy. In addition, Parsons The New School for Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology will be represented, with Obama potentially wearing dresses by students to the various events, including a 'Celebration of Design' cocktail party on Wednesday evening.
