Venice Film Festival 2015: The opening ceremony red carpet
Diane Kruger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Elizabeth Banks and more...
The A-list brings their A-game to the 72nd International Venice Film Festival opening ceremony red carpet. The oldest film festival in the world ushers in a new edition of exceptional filmmaking, world premieres and top acting talent, with a healthy dose of glamour.
The festival opened with the non-competitive premiere of Icelandic director, Baltasar Kormakur's action thriller based on harrowing true-events – Everest – which stars an ensemble cast of big names such as Keira Knightly, Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolen and more.
Other films that are highly anticipated to make their debut include Black Mass, from director director Scott Cooper, another film based on the true events of gangster James "Whitey" Bulger, played by an unrecognisable Johnny Depp, who stars alongside Joel Edgerton and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Other premieres to look out for at the festival include: Equals, the sci-fi romantic drama starring Nicholas Hoult, directed by Drake Doremus. And Tom Hooper's (The King's Speech) new heart-wrenching tale, The Danish Girl, starring Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander.
